How I got started with Eyelash Extensions!
My eyelash extensions journey and adventure began with a licensure in Esthetics.
Before becoming a professional lash extensions artist, I was working full-time in one of the biggest testing and licensing companies in the country. In March 2006, I decided to leave my full-time job of 20 years so I could fully devote my time and attention to my newfound love and career, which I knew was a huge risk for me.
I had no idea what the future had in store for me the day I resigned from my corporate job. The only thing I knew, and still believe today, is that there is a faithful God who holds my future in His hands.
One day in the summer of 2005, I was at a beauty convention in Santa Barbara. There was something at the convention that caught my attention and captivated me. It was my first encounter with semi-permanent eyelash extensions! Immediately my outright impression was this would someday become a huge fashion trend.
I signed up for the eyelash extensions training. The instructor was very knowledgeable. She was extremely thorough in teaching the importance of learning the basic theory of lash extensions. She was also very meticulous in the area of safety and sanitation. The theory and practical training I received from this class was worth every penny. Everything I learned from this training motivated me immensely, I decided to shift my focus into making a career of eyelash extensions.
That lash encounter was the catalyst! It opened up a whole new world for me. I went all in and took a gigantic leap of faith not knowing whether I would be successful in this new venture I was undertaking, as semi-permanent eyelash extensions were not popular at that time.
Somehow, something was telling me that it would one day be huge.
True enough! Less than a decade later, eyelash extensions did not only become huge, but it has grown to be a global billion-dollar industry! And my timing learning this beauty enhancement was perfect because I was able to hone my skills just as semi-permanent eyelash extensions were taking off the ground.
Some may call it a mere happenstance, but I believe the encounter I had with eyelash extensions was a divine lash encounter, for it paved the way for me to alter the course of my career. For this reason, I want to thank the Lord for His guidance and for putting me on this exciting eyelash journey. I am who I am right now because of Him. I want to give God back all the credit, honor, and glory!
